Exploration

Using digital media, this collage is constructed based on the concept of “exploration”. For this image, I created three boxes that nest into each other. To see the most important box which is the smallest box, one must take all the other boxes out. As each box is taken out, a part of the smallest box is revealed. In this process, one will “explore” all of the boxes to get to the final piece. The collage reflects the same idea of “exploration”. When the viewer first looks at the image, they get lost in the sharp colors, and their eyes do not immediately find the boxes. The viewer must explore the image, and look closely and in-depth to find the main part of the image which is the exploaded boxes.

The Station of Nature

This collage is constructed around the main element which is a metro station that is designed to create a distance from the urban life it is surrounded with, and connect visitors with nature. The station is designed with a series of wooden louvers that allow natural light to filter through while providing shelter for occupants. The design also incorporates greenery through wall planters attached to the louvers and an openness that allows visitors to enjoy views of the surrounding vegetation. This collage has a red/orange theme which represents a sunny day with the sun lighting over the entire image. The human figures in the image are wearing sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun. In addition, the collage is constructed by the use of natural elements such as water texture and greenery. Overall, the collage conveys the concept of the design through its various elements, layers, and colors
