Harper’s Ferry Adventure Center
Following a clustered rectilinear motif, this design features three main spaces including the lobby, shop, and cafeteria that are located in varying rectangular volumes with pitched roofs. To showcase the natural beauty of its surroundings, the building is designed around a central green courtyard, which is also the main entrance. The use of clerestory windows allows natural light inside most of the spaces of the building, and the lobby is covered with additional light by having floor-to-ceiling windows. The building’s materials mostly include stone and wood to reflect a sense of nature and adventure.
